I finished reading Thirteen Reasons Why in less than 24 hours! Can you believe that? I think my interest in books is coming back. Or maybe my reading comprehension just improved. Whatever.
I was excited to read this book because I had a feeling that it’s a mystery novel. Like come on, I wanna know the thirteen reasons why the girl killed herself. As I read the book, I get disappointed. I just kept reading it until the end, hoping for some shocking revelations but there’s nothing that made me understand why she had to kill herself and blame people for it.
I rated this 2/5 stars on Goodreads despite of the other members’ high ratings. Maybe I just expected too much.

I have three books on hand right now left unread. I don’t know why, but everytime I open a book and try to read, I always find myself staring blankly at it. Maybe I am just not in the mood to read right now. Oh please, could someone inspire me?

Read the Printed Word

I started reading novels few years ago when I still don’t own a laptop. Out of boredom, I decided to borrow some books from the school library so that I have something to do in the dorm while there are still no school stuff to work on. Another reason is that I want to enhance my reading comprehension. Believe me, it’s the part I hate most during exams! After reading a few books, I stopped because of the overload of school work.

After about two years, I decided to start reading again. Thanks to my friends who are reading books for they inspired me. I’ve been hooked on reading books lately that I even spend money on buying books to read. I know there are a lot of ebooks available for download all over the net which are free. My friends would even give me a copy of whatever ebook they have. But still, I choose to read real books.

Read the Printed Word!

I admit, I have tried reading ebooks before. If I am not mistaken, I read three ebooks (New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun). That was after I bought and read Twilight, when I felt like I want to read the other books but I don’t afford to buy them so I downloaded ebooks. But hey, I have to sit in front of the computer all day and night to finish the ebooks. Just imagine how hours of staring at the screen would hurt eyes! That is why I avoid reading ebooks again.

Aside from the physical effect, I’d rather read real books because I feel like I’m a bookworm even if I’m not. Haha. I don’t know, but I think it is more comfortable and enjoyable to read a real book than an ebook. Nothing beats the experience of reading a book!

I know I won’t convince all of you that real books are better than ebooks because I understand that ebooks can save a lot of your money. But even just for once, try reading a real book. :) Also, I am encouraging everyone to read books. May it be an ebook or a real book, I hope you could spend time to read. Happy reading everyone!

Two books arrived today! :) I am planning to read these tomorrow, which will be the last day of our prelim exams. But then because I got too excited, I started to read The Lovely Bones until Chapter 2. Haha.
I watched the movie adaptations of these books and they’re great. That is why I decided to buy these books and read. I know I won’t be disappointed. :)

The moment I saw this book, I told myself, “I want to buy it!”, without knowing what this book is all about. By looking on the cover, you’ll probably know why I impulsively bought this. :)

I just finished reading the first book of The 39 Clues, The Maze of Bones, a book recommended by a friend. It’s such an amazing book! I so want to read the 10 remaining books because the adventure of finding the 39 clues doesn’t end on the book one!
How I wish I could have my own copy of all the books. If you know someone who sells or a place where I can buy the complete set, please let me know. :)

I am currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Surprisingly, I am on the 6th chapter now. I can’t believe my reading comprehension gone worse. There are times that even if I repeat reading a paragraph, I still don’t get what it means. Plus, the words used are nose-bleeding. I don’t know when I will finish this book. I hope I will. Haha.

Because Kapitan Sino is only for library use (for reasons I don’t know), I spent almost two hours of my afternoon to read. It’s good to read a Filipino book because I can fully understand most of the words used, but still, a novel comes with a hidden message. Somehow, I have understood what this novel is about. And the best line for me is this:
“Ang trahedya ng buhay ko? Hindi ako nagkaron ng kapangyarihan na makapagsabi ng tamang bagay sa tamang tao sa tamang panahon.”

Way back when I was on my first and second year in college, I have read a few novels. I stopped for reasons I forgot, really. Now, I want to read again to improve my reading comprehension.
I decided to start with The Little Prince. I find it easy to understand, though I felt like  it has a hidden message for there are some parts that I think were life lessons. I think I did a good start.
In case you want to know the books I read and want to read, you can check my Goodreads account. Add me if you have one! I want to see what books you read and I might read them too. :)
