As part of another celebration of finally surviving the hell weeks, Tristan and I went to a milk tea shop to try another variant of our favorite drink.
This time, we tried Lai An Bubble Tea Hub located in Quezon City. The place is actually quiet for we were the only customers when we arrived. Later on, more people went. However, it can’t accommodate too many customers because the place is small. There’s also free Wi-Fi connection so I immediately posted a photo on my Instagram. :)
While our professor was discussing a very boring lesson, I was reading the handouts because I just had my first quiz of the year. Peanut Kisses on the side. :)
Who loves desserts? Raise your hands! Who wants unlimited desserts? Raise your feet! :) Dream no more. Your unlimited desserts is granted! Love Desserts is a shop that offers unlimited desserts, yes you read it right, unlimited desserts, for only Php 199. What can you say about that huh? Amazing? I know!
I’ve been wanting to go to Love Desserts the moment I heard it from my roommate. But I don’t always get a chance to schedule a day together with my friends to go there. Luckily, I was able to set a date with my former highschool classmate, whom I’ve never seen since we graduated from highschool and that was like 5 years ago! Wow.
Lucky as we are, Love Desserts is celebrating its first anniversary so they have this promo of Php 143 only for unlimited desserts instead of the regular Php 199. It’s a great saving indeed.
Are you craving for the desserts? Okay, enough with the talking. Indulge yourselves with these desserts.
And here’s an obligatory photo of me and my friend. :)
I apologize for not taking a lot of good photos because the moment we settled in our table, we grabbed our plates and started to get everything we could. Mind you, with all those desserts in front of me, I get confused on what to get first!
I must say that the price we paid is worth all those desserts we had. I will really come back with my friends and when that time comes, I swear, I’ll take more and better pictures. :)
If you want to try Love Desserts too, they are located at 915 Banawe St., cor. G. Roxas St., Quezon City. Actually, I find it hart to locate them because I am not familiar with the place and although google maps is there, I still need directions. So I’d like to give directions on how to go there if you’re coming from UST.
Take a jeepney going to Fairview or Quezon Avenue.
Drop off at Banawe street. You should see an overpass and McDonald’s across. Take the overpass to go to the other side. This is actually not easy to remember and locate because jeepneys go fast along this area. Tip: You must not pass by Sto. Domingo church. If you do, drop off and take the nearest overpass you could see. Go across and go to the nearest McDonald’s branch.
Near the McDonald’s, there’s a jeepney waiting for passengers. Barkers are present too. Those jeepneys will take you to Del Monte Avenue. That’s their last route. Drop off at Del Monte Avenue.
You have to walk a little more until you see a highway. Go across and walk further. There, you’ll see an under construction site. You should pass by it and you would see another building and Love Desserts is easy to find there.
That’s it. Your journey to Love Desserts will surely be worth it once you arrive! :)
Hello there! Did anyone miss me? :) I’ve been suffering from toothache for a few days and I didn’t even take any pain relievers with the thought that I can endure it and the pain will just go away eventually. But I am so wrong. Just this morning, I woke up with pain and I can’t endure it anymore. Look at this pitiful face I have.
I decided to have my tooth extracted even though I don’t want to. I am afraid of all the injections, the extraction itself and blood. But I’d rather endure that one time pain than have this toothache forever. So I asked mama to accompany me to the dentist.
I was really scared. After the initial procedure (the anesthesia and stuff), the extraction begun. I closed my eyes and prayed hard. The dentist kept on telling me to just relax. After a few minutes, he asked me if it hurts and I said no. Then I was shocked when he told me that he already got my tooth. I was surprised because I didn’t feel any pain. It was so different compared to the tooth extraction I experienced before. I am just thankful that everything’s fine now.
And as a reward for being such a brave girl (haha), my mama bought me ice cream! Yay! :)) When we were kids, mama always do this every time we have tooth extraction. Well actually, the coldness of the ice cream helps prevent the bleeding.
The sad part is, I can only eat noodles for now. I hope mama will allow me to eat more than that tomorrow. Hihi. That’s all for now. I’m so back! :D
My mama planned to cook Ginataang Alimasag for dinner. I don’t know if this is how you call this dish, but whatever. :) This is one of our favorites! I volunteered to cook this (following my mama’s instructions, of course) because I still haven’t tried cooking this. :) Just so you know, the only dishes I know how to cook are my favorites. :)
Ginataang Alimasag is kinda challenging for me because of this “Simmer for blah blah minutes”. I do hate that instruction. The dishes I know are those that are easy to prepare. Haha.
And the verdict?
Me: Pa, masarap ba?
Papa: Oo. Bakit?
Me: Ako nagluto nyan eh. :))
Papa: (pertaining to my brothers) Masarap ba? Parang iba lasa noh?
And my brothers laughed. They just don’t really want to admit I’m a good cook. Haha. Hello, there were no leftovers. And they even asked for more! Hahaha.
Bought korean ice cream sandwich because I promised a friend that I’ll buy her one if ever she’ll come to UST. She chose the cookies and cream flavor which I already tasted so I chose the cheesecake flavor instead. I’d rather have this than the korean ice cream popsicle I tasted before.
If you are a restaurant owner, food lover, a food hobbyist or simply a person who loves to cook and eat, for sure, food photography is one of the many things you are interested to learn and know about.
In order to market and sell your awesome food and recipe, you have to present it with fashion and dignity. You can do it by showing awesome and jaw dropping food photos. This is much more important for restaurants, fast food chains and many more food businesses with websites for people or their target market to check upon.
So how can you come up with great food photos? The simplest and quickest answer is to hire someone to do the food photography job. But, most of the time, it cost’s a lot most specially if you are just starting out. So if you are looking to do some foo. photo shoot of your own using your own camera, then this article is just right for you. Below are some good tips on how to capture awesome food photos without sweating that much.
Choose The Best Angle - foods, just like any other subject, do have their best angle. Try to take a picture of your food subject using different angles. This way, you can choose the best by comparing each other angles side by side. Take note that each angle represents or highlights different characteristic or selling point of your menu, so choose and angle wisely.
Zoom In, Shoot Closer - The closer you are at the subject, the better. The reason behind it is that, it will give more focus on the food subject rather than its background. Also, leaving too much space at the background sometimes makes the photographer to get props to contemplate the subject, so this eliminates the need of props. Closer shot also gives your food subject a realistic look and feel. It can show the food characteristic, texture and detail.
Focus - Always think about what are you trying to sell at your food photo and focus on it. For example, if you are trying to sell a big burger, then focus on its size. I hope you can understand my point in here. Focus your shot at what you are trying to sell, always.
Oil Works Wonders - As a person, you don’t want your face to be oily in front of camera. It gives your face a not so good reflection from the light and lens. But not for food. Oil in food, even a little touch of it by using a paint brush or such, works wonders in food photography. It makes the food more lively, fresh and hot even though they are not.
Proper Lighting- Make sure to shoot your food subject with adequate and proper lighting. Make your light enhance more your food photo. Lighting exposure really works wonders and can make or break your food photographs. I hope the above tips gave you good insights about food photography. In case you wanted to read more and know more about food photography basics, then read the following article I have compiled for you.

Here’s another bloggers meetup, guys! :) This time, I was able to meet Sandra and Melle. Clint is also with us and this is the third time I’ve been with him. Haha.
We first went to Lamesa Grill to have Tanduay Ice. No pulutans. Haha. I can’t believe I was able to drink without eating first. XD
Then we went to Bon Chon to eat. I really wanted to eat at Bon Chon and I finally had! The chicken is so delicious!
We even arranged the bones to form our names. Haha. It’s Melle’s idea!
We were already full but we still had cheesecake at Jack’s Loft! I must say that I really liked it especially the cream. :p
I am really shy but I did enjoy our date! Unfortunately, Lhyzie and Grysh weren’t able to come with us. I hope next time they could join us, and I also hope I could meet other bloggers too! :)
